The history of Osapa London can be traced back to its name Òsà palóló meaning “The Lagoon is calm”. Over 200 years ago, the father of Chief Gbadamosi Eletu Odibo faced a series of tragic losses, as his children would pass away at a young age. Seeking a solution, he consulted an Oracle, who told him to settle near a large Lagoon.
When he arrived at the Lagoon, now known as Osapa, he met a hunter and his daughter who he narrated his story to and the hunter took him in. The hunter’s daughter became his wife and they had many children together. Later he married another woman, expanding his family. This turning point marked the beginning of the Eletu Odibo legacy in Osapa.
It used to be called Osapa Village but due to its rapid development with state of the art amenities, it was jokingly renamed Osapa London and the name stuck.
