Kehinde Osinaike, the General Manager of LASPPA, expressed frustration over the lack of compliance despite repeated warnings and visits. He recalled an incident in December 2023 when property occupants unleashed dogs on LASPPPA’s Monitoring and Compliance Units to prevent entry to the site.

On January 31 of this year, LASPPPA had to collaborate with Eti-Osa North District Officers to dismantle parts of the structures after facing obstruction by dogs during an enforcement exercise.

Osinaike criticized developers for resisting government officials and warned that failure to comply would lead to permit revocation and demolition of structures. He urged all developers, owners, and buyers to cooperate with LASPPPA officials and adhere to town planning laws. He also emphasized the importance of addressing any notices issued promptly.

In 2022, LASPPPA sealed over 137 properties across the state due to building irregularities.

As the industry evolves, fostering transparency and collaboration will be key in overcoming obstacles and building a resilient real estate ecosystem for all stakeholders involved.
